Shellshock Bring The Noise!

Of all of Glasswerk’s upcoming nights at the Purple Turtle, this one stands out like a sore thumb…After bringing you several hundred top quality indie, rock and pop gigs, one of our less frequent but top quality metal nights comes around!! Raise your devil-horns and raise your pint-glass, next Tuesday, 27th March at the Purple Turtle sees four of Britain’s hardest and most talented modern metal bands hit the stage!

Headliners SHELLSHOCK (link) combine some deep deep drum n bass and hip-hop bass lines with some hard hitting metal angst, quick-fire raps and brutal riffs in what they call the “E-Metal sound” – we presume that’s E for electro and not ecstasy!…we haven’t had a British band like this since Pitchshifter were in their brain-mangling heyday! The action comes thick and fast with this band, and having previously sold out the Barfly and supported the awesome Skindred on tour, this band has real experience as a class live act. We’re privileged enough to bring you this, the first date of their national tour in support of their first album, “Laws Of Rebellion”.

Brutal modern thrashers SPITTING BLOOD(link ) invite comparison with greats like Pantera and Machine Head, although their rough and ready style of metal is truly their own, mixing modern and classic metal styles in an unrelenting package of doom-laden, street level nastiness! Nice guys though!

Bringing the flavour of a frostbitten forest of hateful black metal are ARTISIAN (link ), a truly unstoppable force of (un)nature. Railing against insipid values in both music and society, this band, led by Scottish man-mountain Ian Miro are a grinding, death metal flavoured take on the classic Nordic Black Metal blueprint of bands like Darkthrone and Immortal, who can appeal to fans of Napalm Death and Bolt Thrower alike.

Opening the show will be the long-awaited first live appearance of LIVING WITH DISFIGUREMENT (link ), the London based death metal four-piece whose demo tracks have already garnered a great response from far and wide. Grizzly vocals and equally revolting but catchy riffs and blasts are inflicted upon the listener by talented musicians who are compelled to entertain with their tales of horror and the unexpected!

So if you want blood, fire and a bloody good time on a Tuesday night, you’d be a mong to go anywhere else! Tickets available from link at a discount, (only £5 Advance/ £6 on the door) or download a flier! Over-18s only…sorry!
