To celebrate the release of their new album, Our Earthly Pleasures (released
today) Maxïmo Park will be playing s very special, intimate, show at the
legendary 100 Club in Oxford Street tonight. Tickets for which, went on sale
at Stargreen in Argyll Street at 10:00am on 31st May. Some fans queued all
night for tickets and by 10:00am the number had swollen to over a thousand,
causing chaos and bringing Argyll Street to a standstill.
Maxïmo Park, who just scored their first Top 10 single with Our Velocity,
have also announced two more special appearances in London this week. On
Wednesday (4th April) they are at HMV Oxford Street for an in store
performance and signing session, then on Thursday (5th April) the band sign
copies of Our Earthly Pleasures at Pure Groove Records, who incidentally
paid for the band to record their first demos in 2004.
HMV, 150 Oxford Street, London W1: showtime starts at 6.00 pm, after which
the band will remain in the store to meet fans and sign copies of the new
album.
Pure Groove, 679 Holloway Road, London N19 5SE (nearest tube Archway): the
band will be meeting fans from 5.00pm.
