A monumental piece of history was made at London's Hackney Empire on Thursday night. The moment we'd all been waiting for, when Pete Doherty and Carl Barat finally reunited on stage. The two pioneers of The Libertines came back on 'An Evening With Peter Doherty'.
Doherty teased the crowd ''You've been waiting for this moment. Ladies and gentlemen Mr Carlos Barat…only joking! What do you expect for 25 quid?”
Only then for Barat to appear on stage with trilby hat. A real unifying moment where the two ripped through 13 Libertines tracks, including ’Time For Heroes’, ’What Katie Did’, ’Dream A Little Dream’, ’The Delaney’, and Don’t Look Back Into The Sun’.
The two's undying love for each other was shown when the pair were hugging, whispering and holding hands.
After the show fans rushed round to the back of the venue and convinced Pete and Carl to appear from the dressing room and play 'Cant Stand Me Now' as Doherty's girl Kate Moss watched on in excitement.
It seems people's reaction to the gig has sparked a huge call for The Libs to get back together. Check the clips of the gig out on You Tube.
A Libertines rebirth is just what Britain's music scene needs!
