Foals are set to record their debut album with the legendary Dave Andrew Sitek of TV On The Radio.
The Brooklyn-based guitarist and producer, notoriously fussy on who he indulges in projects with, has agreed to produce the Oxford band’s material for their first album.
It has been said Sitek is “massively excited” about working with the band.
Foals are set to record the album throughout June and July at Sitek’s Brooklyn studio.
Complete with weird and wonderfully high guitar effects and beats catchier than chicken pox, guitarist Yannis describes the guitar effects as sounding like “insects”.
He says: “They're meant to sound like insects, they're played high on the fret board 96, we even hold our instruments up high.
“The result sounds like a cloud of insects forming these strange harmonies.”
Counting some of their influences as rum, tennis and Nelly Furtado, Foals are an eclectic mix of shouty vocals, definitive beats and punchy guitars.
The band are set to play a number of Transgressive Road Shows across the UK before touring America in the summer.
Foals have just released their single “Hummer” on Transgressive Records.
Catch these guys at The Arches on 9th May.
