GRUFF RHYS ON THE DECKS IN CARDIFF

Long-time Super Furry Animal frontman and now also well respected solo
artist, Gruff Rhys, is to play a DJ set at Callaghans on Saturday 12th
of May. Forecast have bought together Gruff Rhys, his pals and some acelive music to bring Cardiff a night of tunes from the very top of the
very top drawer.

If the music associated with Gruff Rhys is anything to go by, his recordcollection must be pretty fascinating. Expect obscure gems, psychedelic delights and bags of dancefloor fun. Joining Gruff on the decks will be some of Manchester and Cardiff’s finest DJs. Andy Votel and Dom Thomas are part of Manchester’s B-Music collective.

Muisc on the night comes from Twisted Nerve’s Samandtheplants, who makes music derived from the electrical resistance from plants. Support comes from Cate Le Bon. From Penboyr in West Wales, Cate is a multi-instrumentalist with a fine line in melodic, often dark folk.

Tickets are available on the door only and everyone is advised to turn up early to avoid disappointment. Doors open at 8pm with entry £3 before 10pm and then £5 after. Having heard Gruff DJ in New York a year or so ago I strongly advise music lovers to make their way down as they will be in for a treat.
