Album Review

Maps – We Can Create

Ian Brown would be proud to have written many of these tunes. “Maps” are a professional and highly talented unit, obvious when you listen to ‘you don’t know her name’, ‘it will find you’, ‘liquid sugar’. Dark and austere easy-listening. My would-be choice to step into town with. Introspective, electronic, thoughtful, wistfully arranged.
My criticism is much of the album sounds similar, I would like to walk into town with it plugged in, but I might not last the entire album if I were not doing something else – like trying to walk in a straight line, for example.
