Dallas Green and George Petit are the original odd couple of the screamo/hardcore scene, one is exhibitionism personified and the live setting is his playpen. For guitarist and backing vocalist Dallas Green, the main writing artery of the group, he excels away from the spotlight and is content to let lead singer Petit, punch out his well thought-out frustrations with animated pounce. This single encapsulates the partnership well and, bassist Chris Steele, keeps the rhythm trundling with high pitched cyclical grinds that build up to the forceful tirade of Petit.
“Are you pretending? Are you even listening?”
Is the constant complaint that keeps this screamo romp rolling and is full of vengeance and scorn. For a band who takes their name from a stripper’s website, this is proper hardcore stuff.
