Eugene McGuinness

Eugene McGuinness is a young musician based in, erm… well a small rural town in Northern Ireland, Liverpool and London, for now. Eugene releases his debut single, Monsters Under The Bed, an everyday lament of self-inflicted insomnia through late night TV, avoiding work and shying away from facing up to his personal demons -on June 25th through Double Six Records, a division of Domino Publishing.

Despite not having released any material, Monsters Under The Bed has already been receiving regular support on Radio 1 from Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq. Eugene has since recorded three tracks at Maida Vale for a Radio 1 Huw Stephens live session, which was broadcasted on May 2nd.

The B-side to Monsters is the twisted ballad (in the form of a waltz, no less!) of a debauched and seedy back street of Liverpool named Myrtle Parade. Eugene will be playing a number of festivals this summer and releases his debut album in July. Also he’ll be performing at Liverpool’s Zanzibar on 2nd June and Korova on the 18th June.

Eugene McGuinness will play the following dates:

Wed 30 May London The Fly bar
Sat 2 June Liverpool Zanzibar
Tue 12 June Brighton Concorde 2
Wed 13 June Swindon 12 Bar
Fri 15 June London Borderline
Mon 18 June Liverpool Korova
Sat 23 June Leeds Nasty Fest
Sun 24 June Glastonbury Festival
Fri 6 July Wye Fayre festival
Sat 4 Aug Manchester D-percussion festival
