Actress Hands - Come The Summer Days
Album Review

Actress Hands – Come The Summer Days

Most people like summer. Nice hot weather and ice cream helps it become most people’s favourite season. This in turn should mean that most people should like songs about the joys of summer and unsurprisingly this song by Actress Hands has a summery feel to it. What it also has is a melody and vocal similar to that of The Lemonheads’ Evan Dando, albeit a version that sounds insipid, pedestrian and extremely predictable.

It seems to be lacking that vital factor that will make people sit up and listen. The odd brass section is featured to try and pep it all up a little but in the end it all in kind of plods along at a steady pace without seeming to actually go anywhere and is ultimately forgettable even after the 10th time of playing.
