The Fray’s singer, Slade, set to inherit stately home worth £7.5million

Isaac Slade, frontman of US indie band The Fray is set to inherit the estate, valued at £7.5million from Baronet Sir Benjamin Slade after only recently discovering they were relatives.

Sir Benjamin wants someone to takeover the 13th century Mansel House in Somerset, and, in a hunt to find relatives in 2005, sifted through applicants from more than 15,000 Slades. Isaac applied after seeing the tv show ‘I’m Really A Royal’ in which Sir Benjamin was searching for relatives.

The frontman described the stately home as ‘amazing’ during a first visit with his wife Anna yesterday. Sir Benjamin, 60, is also delighted that Isaac will be taking over, saying; “Isaac and his band can have huge concerts in the grounds – it would be fantastic and pay all the rotten bills.”

The Fray had huge success in the US where their debut album How To Save A Life sold 5million copies.
