The death of James Brown saw the demise of the self proclaimed ‘hardest working man in show business’ having recorded and toured non stop for most of his adult life. Now it appears that there is somebody trying to step into the great man’s boots as SFA front man Gruff Rhys announces a solo US tour for September. Having been on the road all year with his new solo album ‘Candylion’, Rhys has recently got back with his band for their upcoming album release and festival dates. They will play throughout July and August in the run up to the release of ‘Hey Venus’. Now Rhys is going on a solo jaunt to the US in September before coming back to tour with the Furries. Rhys has now released two solo albums and recorded two Furries albums in the past 2 years and has been on the road most of the time. The SFA are already working on another album and no doubt Rhys has other things planned for the next 12 months beyond his SFA commitments. His stateside calls at
