This dawdling and tingling 70s rock drawl was more than partly responsible for the rise to recognition for da kids. It is hardly surprising for it to be re-released now their profile has swelled, in order to remind or introduce radio listeners to the gritty, hearty and roving ways of this Long Beach quartet. Vocalist, Nathan Willet creates a languid, blues shadow similar to that of Jason Lytle (Grandaddy) and Mark E. Smith into his style, bouncing off the high profile, sliding bass led accompaniment.
Lyrical bemusement is given authenticity and shows a hint of pride through the delivery, rendering the Cold War Kids a searching and genuine prospect.
