An eclectic collaboration of influences makes this difficult to pack into a genre…there’s reggae, house, hip-hop and lots of soulful singing. Alice Russell’s vocal on the opening track ‘Let It Roll’ is smooth and uplifting.
‘Blood Fire’ is a bumping and grinding reggae track, which is followed on the same, vein further down the album by ‘Concentrate’ which takes you deep down and dirty.
‘Memory Lane’ provides some great house disco beats and ‘Something You Got’ and ‘This Was Supposed To Be The Future’ are very Morcheeba-esque. A great mix with some surprising but well produced tracks.
