Soap Star to Super Star success in the Music Industry

Hollyoaks star, award winning actor & MOBO Award Nominee Leon Lopez is launching his much anticipated music career with his debut release 'Love Got In The Way' out on 31st July 2007.

Leon recently appeared on 'Soap Star Super Star', where he won the judges vote for his indisputable musical talent. Leon's performances also caught the attention of the music industry and he was immediately offered a record deal with Celebrity Records who he is now signed to.

Since signing his deal he has teamed up with Take That star Gary Barlow and Christina Aguilera's man of choice for production Rod Gammons. Together they have co-written Leon's forthcoming eclectic album 'Movin On' which already has musical peers raving about it. When acclaimed Fugee's man, Wyclef heard the album tracks he invited Leon over to his LA studio to work together on a new music project.

Leon's friends are all very excited about his new music career, in particular Gemma Atkinson and Miss UK, Preeti Desai who appear in his music video for his single 'Love Got In the Way'.

Leon has come a long way since starting out his career as Jerome on Liverpool's hit soap, Brookside, he appeared on Holby City and played a leading role in Hollyoaks. He recently finished playing the much coveted role of the Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Leon says “As such as I love acting, I have always wanted to sing too. People's reaction to me following Soap Star was brilliant. I suppose no one new I could sing before then and I never really told anyone, so to get a record deal when I left was totally unexpected. Then to get to work with Gary Barlow and Rod Gammons was a huge, huge bonus.”

His much anticipated new single 'Love Got In The Way' is being released on 30th July and can be pre-ordered from all downloaded stores from 12th June.
