Arctic Monkeys – Fluorescent Adolescent

The second single to be taken from Arctic Monkeys second album, Favourite Worst Nightmare, is Fluorescent Adolescent. This has everything in it that makes the monkeys great. From the beating drums and catchy guitar riff to Alex Turner’s lyrical genius, this song is a ‘tune’.

This time Alex’s lyrics have taken a sexual turn as he tells of the demise of an exciting sexual relationship. It contains such memorable lines like You used to get it in your fishnets/now you only get it in your nightdress, a bloody Mary lacking her Tabasco/remember when you used to be a rascal and flicking through a little book of sex tips/remember when the boys where all electric.

Yet again we have another top tune from the monkeys, but as most people probably have the album you should already know this.
