Reading Festival Abandons Flooded Campsite

Organisers of the Reading Festival have taken the decision to abandon part of the camping area which has failed to recover after recent flooding. This comes after the recent cancellation of the Truck and Fflam festivals due to the torrential summer weather.

Reading Festival organiser, Melvin Benn, told fans, ‘We have recovered to a large extent but not fully and a fair amount of the site is still not campable today’. One of the car parking areas has been turned into a makeshift campsite for the event, although many parts are still boggy and some will be closed.

The main festival areas are fine and the event will go ahead as normal, with fantastic performances expected from the Smashing Pumpkins and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
