Pelican - City of Echoes
Album Review

Pelican – City of Echoes

The heavy rock instrumentals from Chicago return for their third album and although its not the most immediate of collections it does feature a few stand-outs such as ‘Dead Between the Walls’ and the great ‘City of Echoes’. Heavy, thunderous drums, big old guitars, loads of bass – you know what to expect from this and though it does nothing new it does the old stuff well.

The whole thing gets better and better on repeat listens and though it never reaches a …Trail of Dead level of greatness its a good record that’s bound to sound amazing live. And you’ve gotta have a bit of time for any album that features a track called ‘Spaceship Broken – Parts Needed’.
