This is the sort of song building that earned Kentucky quartet, Emanuel the prestige of opening for Bad Religion in the UK a few years hence. This lead single from their second album ‘Black Earth Tiger’, shows that they have taken the blistering and sucker-punching blueprint of debut album, ‘Soundtrack To A Headrush’ and drawn it out with more fiery heart. The singer/guitarist partnership of Matt Breen and Mat Barber uses the good cop/bad cop vocal approach to ride over the rumbling, high profile bass of Bryan Whiteman. Emmanuel swerves passed the popular sounds of the moment in this Kerrang culture, giving them a fresh edge.
