Isosceles - Oran Mor Glasgow
Live Review

Isosceles – Oran Mor Glasgow

Tonight’s showcase of Glasgow’s most exciting new bands has all the hallmarks of a fine cappuccino by the River Kelvin on a late Summer afternoon.

Our first sip is the smooth, expertly-crafted froth of Isosceles. Fresh from their recent tour dates with Franz Ferdinand, they are clearly brimming with confidence and give a pulsating performance of witty pop songs complete with hammond organ, free triangles and a dusting of chocolate.

The rich, dark aroma of Galchen is born of a fine blend of instrumental innovation and the choicest beans. Their absorbing and stimulating rock landscapes take the mind on a wander like that first rush of caffeine as you gaze up at the clouds.

Finally, Make Model have just enough bittersweet melodies to help savour the last few sips in the bottom of the cup. And when the music is this good, you may even be tempted to dip your finger in there to scoop out those last dollops of chocolatey foam hiding round the rim. Delicious.
