Gonzo 5th Birthday Tour Comes To Liverpool

Throughout October and November MTV TWO’s flagship show, Gonzo, will be celebrating its 5th birthday.

They're taking to the road for this auspicious occasion with a few friends in tow for Gonzo on Tour 2007. If you’re mad about raw, live music then get set for an exhilarating ride. The tour – supported by Topman – will be stopping at infamously intimate Barfly venues across the UK.

Gonzo on Tour has always been about the best of new talent…nurturing little known bands that have gone on to be huge. Previous Gonzo on Tour alumni include Franz Ferdinand, The Kooks, Snow Patrol, Biffy Clyro… the tour has also provided Maximo Park, Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, to name but a few, with their debut TV performances. And the now notorious boys of The View were the first support band to join us on every date of the tour in ‘06.

So who’s on the bill for this year’s celebration and where is it going?

Zane Lowe and the Gonzo team have hand-picked the sweetest line-up ever – from headliners Funeral For A Friend, The Rumblestrips, Bloc Party, The Cribs and Jack Penate to support from exciting discoveries The Dykeenies, Blood Red Shoes, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, Lightspeed Champion and Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip. Plus the massively tipped teenage hot shots Operator Please who’ll be first on every night.

The Gonzo Tour bus pulls up in Birmingham on Friday, 12th October and then rampages into Cardiff, London, Liverpool, York and finally climaxes in Glasgow on October 21st.

The MTV TWO cameras will be filming at each gig and there’ll be backstage interviews and madness for broadcast from Friday 16th November.

Gonzo on Tour has teamed up with Topman to promote this year's tour. They'll be running promotions in-store and online @Topman.com to win tickets to Gonzo on Tour. Other events will be announced by Topman in support of the tour.
