From a park bench somewhere in Chicago, Hot Club De Paris had these typically Smart Alek things to say about their new album which is well and truly underway now.

On the opportunity to work with Modest Mouse producer Brian Deck, Paul Rafferty stated “We got the chance to do it and we're not dicks”.

Matthew Smith says “It’s not really a very difficult decision when presented with the choice of recording at home or going to record with a producer you really like, thousands of miles away. Unfortunately I lost the toss and we’re going to Chicago”.

Alasdair Smith said on the chance to fly to the windy city, “I can’t fucking wait to go to Chicago. The fuckin’ Ludwig museum’s there”

As usual, any mention of Don Cabellero influenced Hot Club de Paris pricks up the Glasswerk.co.uk ears and this is sizzling hot news indeed. The follow-up to 2006’s critically-acclaimed ‘Drop It Til It Pop’s’, the band's second album remains untitled as yet, and is due for release early next year on Moshi Moshi…
