Anyone remember that music phenomenon in the 90’s called ‘Swamp Rock’? No? I thought not. Anyone the forerunners in this scene were a band called Eat. PDS have come along and thankfully dug this scene back up. ‘Space Invader’ is a 3 minute dark, moody hybrid of gloom and misery. The bass is the underpinning of this song and with the stripped down basics of the drums and guitar makes for a bloody good listening experience. It’s simple but works brilliantly. Not many songs name-check ‘Mansfield’ either. On their school report it should say: ‘PDS come across as a miserable bunch, thankfully they don’t need to try any harder’. Excellent!
