Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Antony Keidis has spoken about the impending law suit the band are filing against the TV show of the name of Californication.
“Californication is the signature CD, video and song of the band's career, and for some TV show to come along and steal our identity is not right,” said Keidis.
Whether RHCP have a case is up to the courts now but it is thought unlikely the band can claim rights to a phrase that was reportedly coined in the 1970's.
The TV show however features a character named “Dani California,” which is also the title of a Red Hot Chili Peppers song released in 2006, the lawsuit noted.
Will it be as big as the Phil Spector trial? We at Glasswerk.co.uk very much doubt it.
