With no thoughts of slowing down in 2008, the band will kick off the year by playing to 100,000 people from a carpark roof in Liverpool for the opening event of the Capital of Culture festivities.
The WOMBATS have been nominated for the inaugural XFM New Music Award, as voted for by XFM listeners.
The other nominees are Air Traffic, The Enemy, Frank Turner, Kate Nash, Klaxons, The Maccabees, Pigeon Detectives, The Twang and The View. The winner will be announced at the awards night at Koko on 16th January.
