Yoav - Charmed and Strange

Yoav – Charmed and Strange

Despite Yoav’s predominately monotone and somewhat lacklustre Enrique Iglesias vocal, his Charmed and Strange LP is filled with quirky moments of musical majesty that, against the odds please, throughout a mostly non-engaging LP. Basic in its construct, it upholds a latter day Radiohead energetic ambience and fleetingly features a blippyness mainly associated with Aphex Twin as each song ambles on into oblivion. Shifting from promising moments of appeal to dire moments of drawl, this LP reflects, no epitomises, failed potential. Yoav should look to the likes of Beirut for some much needed inspiration and song-writing direction.
