Cambridge Barfly Taking Off Big Style

The Cambridge Graduate has thrown off it's yellow Scream pub jacket to become the City's coolest hangout as the Barfly expand their growing empire. Cambridge is now storming to the elite of the music scenes with the best festivals – Secret Garden Party and the Cambridge Folk Festival and a couple of venues large enough to host the biggest groups around. The Barfly completes the picture, already hosting the best new bands and the top alternative acts. Superb bands chosen by the Fly's chief booker Simon Baker – ex of Cambridge's Green Mind Promotions – have already filled the place over and over with the Raveonettes (pictured playing the Cambridge Barfly), Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong, Emma Pollock, You Say Party We Say Die!…the list goes on. And January will really start fires in the Stuuudies and townies wallets as the line up just goes from better to the best. Saturday sees Martin Stephenson (ex of The Daintees) hit the city, before an end of January, early February flurry of the weirdest and the hippest happeners. Art Brut to the Courteneers; Lightspeed Champion to the Broken Family Band to the Nine Black Alps. Get dancing on the first floor!
