NME Awards Nominations Revealed

The nominations for this year's NME Awards- taking place on 28th February at Indigo2- are in, throwing up some interesting choices:

Amy Winehouse has notched up four nominations but thanks to her recent troubles she finds herself nominated for Villain of the Year and Worst
Dressed! Kate Moss is visibly absent from this year's Sexiest Female list- normally a dead cert for this category. Brit Award favourites Leona/Mika and have only managed to grace the Worst Album and Worst Dressed categories at the NME Awards. In recent years the NME Awards have seen a healthy contest between British and American acts, yet 2008 sees the Brits dominate this year's nominations.

Categories include, Best British Band with Arctic Monkeys, Babyshambles, The Cribs, Klaxons and Muse fighting it out. Nominations for Best Solo Artist are Kate Nash, Jack Penate, Jamie T, Amy Winehouse and Patrick Wolf. Best Album contenders are 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' – Arctic Monkeys, 'Shotters Nation' – Babyshambles, 'We'll Live And Die In These Towns' – The Enemy, ‘Myths Of The Near Future' – Klaxons and 'In Rainbows' – Radiohead.

Winners will be announced at the biggest rock n roll party of the year at London's premier new venue Indigo2 on February 28th and music fans can
watch all the action on E4.
