Renee Cologne -
Album Review

Renee Cologne –

A self-confessed “Rock & Roll Housewife” (which is co-incidentally the title of her new album) her music oozes with the emotions and feelings of this demographic, or the housewife demographic at least! Her lyrics contain stories of shopping at Sears, neighbourhood gossip and day dreams of excitement. It could be the soundtrack to Desperate Housewives.

But that’s not to say it is restricted in it’s appeal. This is orchestral pop full of strings, little melodies and of course “blips and dweeps”. Over the top of this her voice oozes hurt, bitchiness and pure soul. Her music makes for great everyday listening, and if you take the time to listen her words will make you both laugh and cry. This is music for the average woman written by someone who has lived that life.
