From Plan To Progress – A Look Over

Their sound is sharp urgent and to the point.

It’s hard to mistake a punk attitude when it’s pogo-ing in your face relentlessly, which is exactly what the new single from Brighton based From Plan To Progress does. A Look Over stampedes its way into your peripherals, earmarked by its ever so fast drumming that comes on like a seizure. Backed by B-Side, Running For Their Lives Again, they firmly nail their colours to the wall as pop tinged punks with parallels to The Offspring and Green Day.

At times you’re willing the band to just slow down a little, take it easy for a while, when the drumming falls away to more recognised musical standard during the breakdown in A Look Over it’s a welcome gasp for breath and reveals a real strength within the band that is easily overlooked when advancing at such a breakneck pace.

Though perhaps the speed of everything is a true stroke of genius, neither track on the single even dreams of going anywhere near the three minute mark and their debut album clocked in at just 7 minutes and 42 seconds, kicking the door down with their high energy sound and bolting for the exit before you’ve barely had time to form an opinion.
