The Kills – Midnight Boom

Yet another fantastic band from Domino Records release their new album this week. Combining pop, punk and mad electro sounds to create an album of intense pleasure, The Kills really do come up trumps with this one.

There are some weird sounds on this album such as the chorus of ‘Getting Down’ but they only make it all the more intriguing and unpredictable. Rather than just the tedious guitar pop, which we seem to be overloaded with lately, The Kills offer something a little more; something you just can’t quite put your finger on. However it is suggested that you try to find out what that is by exploring this great album.

‘Cheap and Cheerful’ which was released on 3rd March, does what it says on the tin. You could most definitely do the hand Jive to this song in a Grease-like way! ‘Black Balloon’ is an obvious juxtaposition to this but still doesn’t disappoint.

The Kills offer diversity and unpredictability; make sure you get your copy.
