The Brights - It Won't Be Long Now/Wear Your Art On Your sleeve
Album Review

The Brights – It Won’t Be Long Now/Wear Your Art On Your sleeve

Essex four piece The Brights release their second single double a side It won’t Be long now/ Wear your art on your sleeve.

What can I say about this band? Well, they’re big in Japan. Seriously, they reached number two in Japan’s Jetset Records chart, outselling Babyshambles and Jack Penate.

They have a summery feel to their indie pop sound which does make for a nice listen. Wear your art on your sleeve is the more promising of the two tracks, it has an extremely watered down Smith’s feel to it although it’s going to take a lot more work on the lyrics to equal that of Morrissey. Saying that it probably is unfair to compare them to such a great band. In their own right The Brights are a decent band that would make the perfect soundtrack to a long hot summer’s day.
