Tubelord - Feed Me A Box Of Words
Album Review

Tubelord – Feed Me A Box Of Words

Not for the faint hearted. On first listen Tubelord sound rather awkward and disjointed but nonetheless strangely compelling. After a few listens I defy anyone not to be hooked on their bouncy and fast paced hooks. You never quite know if it’s going to collapse in instrumental chaos or implode into a joyous heart wrenching melody, which in itself adds to their charm and is a welcome break from the rigid structured formula most British bands are producing en masse.

Lead track ‘Feed Me a Box Of Words’ is the highlight, a magnificent blend of Refused at their most chaotic and Biffy Clyro at their most delicate. ‘Obstacle’ is a mix of spiky guitars and hypnotic drumming that will leave you in a frenzy before its anthemic chorus kicks in and leaves you feeling exhilarated. ‘Night of the Pencils’ is a similar affair, the vocals managing to sound vivacious yet powerfully melodic, overall very refreshing. I for one am in eager anticipation of an album.

With the backing of a slightly better production this band could become something very special.
