Tom Baxter - Tell her Today
Album Review

Tom Baxter – Tell her Today

Tom Baxter’s second single “Tell Her Today” follows the success of and is taken from his critically acclaimed album “Skybound”. Already tipped for success in 2008, his songs are the perfect soundtrack for a relaxing afternoon or, as in Run Fatboy Run, a romantic comedy.

“Tell Her Today” follows on from previous single “Better”, but is in a whole new style. Dropping the acoustic romance and heartfelt lyrics, he shows us his eclectic tastes with intricate guitars building up to a flamenco style crescendo that gets your pulse pounding just listening to it.

But unlike the soulful vocals of the last single “Tell Her Today” has murmuring lyrics sang without passion. This does make the song sound rather empty and false, but perhaps flamenco music calls for Latin or Spanish before the lyrics can truly match the passion of the instruments, and it is the music that really steals the show in this release.
