The latest Frank turner single release from his album “Love Ire & Song” most definitely doesn’t break hearts and capture attention.
Recorded with the Holloways, this single has a distinctly “Nambucca” feel to it, country riffs, gang vocals and the stories of feeling like you’re comfortable how you are and not growing up, the Peter Pan story of not listening to anyone while you’re at it.
The prospects of this song were more exciting than the reality, it’s not a bad song, but it’s not earth-movingly spectacular. It’s repetitive and seemingly unambitious. It is in no way over produced, in fact it sounds like it’s been demoed in a garage and released. All in all it’s a disappointing song that would get a “could do better”.
