After last year’s massive sell out success, Underage is returning to the playground of Victoria Park for its second year of a modern music master class.
The world’s first incarnation of the Underage festival in 2007 was an unprecedented summer sensation and this year’s line up is bigger and bolder, featuring a detention hall full of bright young things.
Headlining the event are Gallows, the most unpredictable, riotous, rock n’ roll band on the planet, whose particular brand of hard core punk is sure to provide one of the seminal festival moments of 2008. Following in their slip stream are Foals, whose recently released debut album was one of the most eagerly anticipated records in recent years and The Horrors, those big haired, squid-flinging, art school ghouls who bring their Goth-garage to Victoria Park.
Hip-hop, punk riffs and baile funk is the intoxicating concoction provided by Diplo endorsed Brazilians, Bonde De Role, whilst French trio, The Teenagers combine brilliant, self-aware, smart sentiments with lush, danceable, huggable pop.
Playing across the other stages are leading lights of the UK’s alternative music scene including, Bombay Bicycle Club, Cheeky Cheeky and the Nosebleeds, Count And Sinden, Florence And The Machine, Fryars, Ipso Factor, Operator Please, Poppy And The Jezebels, Scum, Sons And Daughters, Team Waterpolo, The Rifles, Those Dancing Days, Wild Beasts and XX Teens
Underage Festival takes place at Victoria Park, London on 8th August.
