· Infadels are back.
Two years on from their acclaimed debut, 'We Are Not The Infadels', new single, “Make Mistakes” is the first cut to be lifted from the bands Youth produced masterpiece 'Universe In Reverse'.
It's bursting with energy, growling guitar melodies and hooks in abundance. It is, in short – the definitive Infadels record.

Somewhere between playing over 300 gigs with the likes of the Chemical Brothers, Franz Ferdinand and the Arcade Fire, the London five-some spent 18 months discovering the sounds that would grow to become a re-imagining of the Infadels sound. The band's guitarist, Matt Gooderson, explains: “Universe In Reverse is an inspirational album that makes you feel anything's possible.”

Inspired and determined singer-songwriter Bnann began plucking away at new tracks on his acoustic guitar while co-composer Matt added thigh-twitching electronics to the already stomping, yet soaring melodies. Matt muses: “Infadels is a sound clash between Bnann's ideas and mine. He is the acoustic troubadour who thinks Bob Dylan's a genius and I'm the sonics guy who would rather listen to Steve Reich or Brian Eno. We are both incredibly passionate about what we like.”

'Make Mistakes' personifies that passion. It's a bold opening statement with some serious guitar thrashing at the core of its pop-tune mastery. As with many tracks on the album it's all geared around a catchy-as-hell chorus – but they don't paint it by numbers. Harking back to Bnann's childhood in coastal Norfolk, it tells a story of one man's attempt to escape his humdrum surroundings with disastrous consequences. The chorus line of “We all make mistakes from time to time” is a sentiment we can all relate to.

Backed by b-side “Black Eyes and Love Bites” and remixes by the band this is a package that's all Infadels, and that's intentional. The Kraftwerk inspired remix sees the “Make Mistakes” statement cauterized into the minds of the dancefloor while “Black Eyes” is a slice of classic home brew Infadels fresh from their own Dead At Thirty studios.

So look busy, the Infadels are coming back and their second long-player will see a resurgence into the hearts of those who like a good tune.
