Conil - Strage Part Of The Country
Album Review

Conil – Strage Part Of The Country

With such a slow start, really the title track should have been the third track. The actual third track ‘Years Between’ is a beautiful mellow track that is a good chillout song. The rest of the single, however, is let down by a voice that is gravelly but not in the good way. It seems like there is potential for a great single but the voice is not easy to listen to with this sort of chilled out rock and is more like a voice you would find in a punk band. In fact at points it is near intolerable.

‘Years Between’ shows that Conil does have singing talent, it is just a shame he doesn’t use it in the first two tracks. I find myself wanting to like this single but unfortunately due to the vocal let downs I can only really enjoy that final track. If you like gravelly vocals you will probably like this single but if you generally do not, then they will distract you from the music which is actually not that bad.
