Free Blood – Free Blood Part 2

Free Blood part 2 is an extremely slim EP.

Comprising of two tracks and one remix, it concisely delivers to follow on from the critical acclaim built from their previous release, Free Blood.

Royal Family starts like the soundtrack to a vintage horror film, with the sound of what could be rusty chains clanking as an organ pricks up the atmosphere when it creeps in. An underlying urge to dance lays in wait throughout the creepy and unsettling track, sounding like a house party held by Jack The Ripper at London Dungeons.

Grumpy follows up with another atmospheric track that jitters and shakes to a crazy rhythm but still doesn’t elude the menacing tone set out by its predecessor but presents itself as something closer to a straight forward excuse than Royal Family was willing to, either way, the two tracks work well and complement each other with their mirror aspects.

The only disappointment is the Adventures Close To Home remix of opener, Royal Blood, presenting a plodding and rather unimaginative re-interpretation when a chance to escalate its dancefloor promise would have been highly anticipated.
