Muscles - Ice Cream
Album Review

Muscles – Ice Cream

Ozzy wunderkid and sometime techno geek Muscles has delivered a fine piece of lo-fi synth trance in the form of ‘Ice Cream’. Tackling the very real subject of knife crime in youth culture, Muscles not only survives an awkward confrontation but actually brings a positive pop plea out the other side.

He’s supported the likes of The Chemical Brothers on his home turf and judging by the catchiness of his debut Guns, Babes and Lemonade it probably won’t be long before he’s infiltrated the minds of young British new ravers into eating err, ice cream from his all singing, all dancing superstore.

This track could well become a guilty pleasure but if you’ve any sense about you, you’ll bypass contemplating the whether or not to love or loathe the man who cites S Club 7 as an influence and join the dance floor mayhem when it hits town. Not sure which way to sway? He’s a bit like Calvin Harris if Calvin Harris was a hot talented live act. Opt for this Melbourne variety from the one man band menu and you’ll surely go back for seconds. Modular, we salute you.
