Slaves To Gravity - Scatter The Crow
Album Review

Slaves To Gravity – Scatter The Crow

With all of the emotion in the air at the moment in the music industry, artistic intergirty, cross genre experimentation – What we all need from time to time is a band who will just come out and do something that is plain and simple. Slaves To Gravity are a rock band. They don’t do rock Ethereal, or Rock-Country. They are not even Rock-Electro. They are plain and simple rock. And it is great that they do rock so well cause we are in need of a band that can do something straightforward to understand well.

So the band name is apt as they are indeed very well grounded. So does this mean that the variety in the songs suffers? Well yes they could have trimmed a song or two, as 13 can be quite excessive. With this many tracks it can seem very paint by numbers – but this is the most evident in the rythym guitar. Something a tad more original might help the band stand out that little bit more in order to get recognised.

The album is certainly at its more interesting mid album, although there is bound to be a few audioslave comparisons. Otherwise its all good stuff, and no doubt would seem all the better in a live setting!
