Wire Daisies – Rocketgirl

Wire Daisies formed in 2002 in the musical wilderness that is the West Country. Singer Treana Morris was discovered by Queen’s Roger Taylor singing in his local pub and subsequently took the band on tour with him. Further to that they signed a deal with transistor project.
‘Rocket Girl’ is a bouncy 3 minute pop song that is polite, un-offensive and quite frankly very boring.

The vocals are reminiscent of Dolores Cranberry locked in a room with Louise Wener of Sleeper. The music is staple diet rock a la nickelback, no wonder the behemoth that is Robbie Williams has had them on tour.

Wire Daisies have certainly targeted their market place, the MOR section audience – you know the sort of people it appeals to – people who consider Dido to be cutting edge.
No doubt the yanks will lap this up, but woe betide anyone who tells me this band are great. Quite frankly – dull!!
