Hop Farm Festival Announces More Incredible Acts

Every year there is an event with a line up and attitude, which makes it stand out from the multitude of festivals strewn around the country. Hop Farm Festival is 2008`s gem. A one day, one stage festival devoid of any branding, sponsorship or VIP areas complete with seven of the most perfect bands to give Hop the smallest but most exciting line-up of the summer. Read the run down and weep happy tears. There are no weak links as it builds up to a real headliner – not Jay Z, Glastonbury – but Neil Young.

An electric atmosphere wouldn`t do this event justice. The sets prior to Mr Young will have the crowd simmering too close to the edge. The Brit/Mercury award nomnated and brilliantly mad music of the Guillimots will likely kick proceedings off. Their new album `Red` is rightly storming up top ten. Fellow newly announced Rufus Wainwright . The gay messiah has produced some of the most enchanting modern classics this new century and will be sure to break out some pink wellies should it rain, but it won`t. Supergrass keep on releasing and they show no signs of losing it, although `Alright` is the one to have the crowd in sunshine ecstasy. America`s finest non-mainstream rock band My Morning Jacket also come laden with new material, having given their soon to be released album a great runout at SXSW, with much back catalogue to more than fill out their set.

Then the big, monsterous acts go to work. Bobby Gillespie, Mani and co are the perfect evening festival band. A day of hard drinking behind them, Scotland`s big boys Primal Scream have all the festival classics to set their huge stage presence and lazers to. `We want to be free, we wana have a good time, and we wana get loaded…` Hop finishes with the American legend, Neil Young . And there is one more name to be announced, who have organizers Vince Power Music Group – those brilliant people who created Spain`s premier festival Benicassim – got up his sleeve? Exciting times, these modern little festivals. Only the fittest will survive. Hop has no worries.
