British Sea Power, Blondie, Foals and Crystal Castles New For Latitude

This year's Latitude, 17 – 20 July, is full of attitude. The organisers have again carefully picked a wonderful line up focusing 2008 on the icy cool with mesmeric headliners Sigor Ros, Interpol (pictured, Jelle Wagenaar © 2005) and Franz Ferdinand joined by new additions Blondie, British Sea Power and indifferent hipsters Crystal Castles and Foals. The mix is perfect though as light relief comes from the Go! Team and Seasick Steve and truely loosening up in the Comedy Arena with the best funnymen around including Never Mind The Buzzcocks' Bill Bailey, Simon Amstell, Phill Jupitus and Mark Lemar and non-NMTB stand ups Ross Noble, Rich Hall and Omid Djalili among the many highlights.

Suffolk's Latitude is set in beautiful Henham park, Southwold and makes the most of the stunning surroundings with intimate woodland performances, the best music and comedy set around perfect parkland and lakes and there's even space for the eclectic Poetry, Theatre and Film Arenas. Unexpected highlights may come from the Literary Arena, which plays host to world famous authors Irvine Welsh, Simon Armitage, Iain Banks and Dave Gorman.

This cultural feast is the complete antithesis to the huge corporate festivals splurged around the UK and USA yet the line up here esily beats the meat headed competition every year. Already confirmed on the undercard for the main Obelisk Arena are Nick Cave's side Grinderman, the Deal Twins' The Breeders. The Uncut Arena is already forming a strong world music vibe, headed by the brilliant blind Malian pair Amadou & Mariam and Sri Lankan crazy cat M.I.A. With dozens of acts still to be confirmed Latitude will make even the most decisive person hard pressed to choose.

Tickets for the summer's best festival shouldn't be missed and can be purchased via the official Latitude website here: link For the full lineup and all the information go to the Latitude homepage here: link
