Laura Marling and Everest added to Hop Farm Festival

Hotly tipped folk singer/songwriter Laura Marling, has certainly exploded on the scene since her humble Reading beginnings a couple of years ago. Already picked up by Virgin Records for her next single, Laura has appeared on tracks by The Rakes and Mystery Jets. She has also collaborated with Charlie Fink from Noah and the Whale fame, who produced her debut album, Alas, I Cannot Swim.

Having won over a legion of fans from Jamie T, who invited her to tour with him after attending her second ever gig and Jools Holland who got her on the show earlier this year, Laura’s star is on the rise. A festival favourite, Laura has graced the stages at O2 Wireless Festival and the first Underage Music Festival at Victoria Park in 2007, and now joins a quality line up at this year’s Hop Farm Festival.

Popular Los Angeles based indie outfit, Everest, abandon the glam and glitz of Hollywood to trek across the pond showcasing their formidable live set and tunes at this year’s Hop Farm Festival. Already stacking up rave reviews for their debut album, Ghost Notes, the boys from the West Coast look set to bring their unique brand of retro-esque melodies to the UK masses.

The band may be new but these guys have been kicking around the L.A indie scene for years, coming from a diverse array of bands like Sebadoh to Folk Implosion to The Watson Twins. They have finally come together to kick start a brand new era and to resurrect the sounds from the past.

The Hop Farm Festival is Vince Power’s landmark return to the competitive festival marketplace, once again demonstrating his ongoing creativity that earned him the media-given title of ‘Godfather of Gigs’. This festival is set to become the most musically focused event of its kind in the UK this year.

With legendary headline act Neil Young appearing with Primal Scream, Supergrass, My Morning Jacket, Rufus Wainwright and Guillemots. The Hop Farm Festival’s newest acts will further underline the rise and importance of the new prestigious Vince Power Music Group, which devised Europe’s most exciting festival Benicassim in Spain – the continents ‘Glasto del Sol’ experience.

Vince Power says of these latest editions “We are extremely pleased by the quality of this significant line up and are proud and excited to bring this very unique event to our audience.”
Tickets are now on sale through See Tickets and further acts will be announced throughout April.
