Delays - Hooray
Album Review

Delays – Hooray

It takes a rare talent to blend pop sensibility with indie swagger and yet retain a sense of identity. An ability to do just this, and to throw in a sense of grandeur that exudes confidence but not arrogance, makes The Delays a very special band.

Hooray establishes the Southampton quartet as an outfit with more in common with the intelligent Britpop of Pulp and Suede than their contemporaries, despite the accessible indie framework. If this single is anything to go by, their forthcoming album Everything’s the Rush will be worth snapping up when it comes out on Monday.
