Grand National – By The TIme I Get Home There Won’t Be Much Of A Place For Me

Not the most conventional track I’ve ever heard, but nonetheless still sounds like a very radio friendly summery anthem; not an easy task and one that deserves instant kudos.

If anyone’s imagined what Trent Reznor might sound like if he overdosed on happy pills, the result may be a little like this. It’s got an undeniably groovy New Orderish vibe to it but blended in is that dirty industrial whiplash sound that can often be heard in early prodigy tracks. If it gets enough radio play it will probably fill the dance floor in clubs that accommodate for a whole host of music types and consequently should receive the success it deserves. It’s a fine example of one of those charming dance tunes that come along every now and again that demands people cross over from their usual preferred genre and appreciate a damn good song for what it is.

The remix isn’t half bad either, actually manages to sound like a proper remix rather than the usual throw a few slapdash beats over the same song and chuck it in for good measure.
