This double A-side is led by freshly signed Rotary Ten, indie-pop newbies hailing from Sheffield who have been garnering attention thanks to previous independent single releases. Now under label Xtra Mile they are gearing up for the release of their debut album this June by releasing “Time Is Not A Line, And I Am Not A Rock”. With five years of playing together under their belt and a shared love of Death Cab For Cutie and Explosion’s In The Sky amongst others their music is comparatively well developed and it is that that may help set them apart from the many other bands with similar sounds and styles.
Backing them up on the release are five guys from Kingston-Upon-Thames going by the name of Colours. “Chutes” is full of energetic guitar pop that is still fairly raw, a blend of indie and progressive rock, and not unlike Dartz! and Foals. They are rapidly becoming infamous with many fans in their peers who are spreading their name throughout the industry, we can only hope their rapid rise doesn’t occur at the cost of their music reaching its full potential.
