The Great Escape returns (the festival not the war film)

There is not long to go now before The Great Escape returns, with the UK music industry flocking down to Brighton. It's a darn good weekend's worth of live music for the punter as well…

The Great Escape has established itself as the leading event in Europe for showcasing new talent from around the world, aimed at 'export ready' bands and Industry Professionals. TGE takes place in Brighton, UK over three days and nights every May with a total attendance of over 10,000 people. A variety of insightful industry talks, panel debates and celebrity interviews are run alongside performances from 200 new local and international artists, themed parties and club nights in over 25 different venues.

But for most people it's all about the music, and this time around TGE has really usurped previous efforts. It has a line-up that could hold it's own against any of the major summer festivals. On offer in Brighton are The Wombats, Vampire Weekend, The Fratellis, Crystal Castles, The Futureheads, The Subways, The Ting Tings, Lightspeed Champion, and seriously hundreds more.
