Kate Nash – Merry Happy

Mediocre.

That is the only word I can think of to describe Kate Nash’s new single ‘Merry Happy’. Well, I say ‘new’, this song was actually released back in the dark ages of March this year. I think the fact that it’s taken me so long to come to such a conclusion says it all really.

I neither like it or dislike it. It’s just… alright. In fact nothing about this song has made any impact on me at all, except perhaps the irritatingly repetitive ‘doo ba ba’ vocals which occasionally haunt me in my sleep.

To me, this sounds like good old-fashioned non-memorable album filler. If this is a ‘single’, I dread to think what the rest of the album is like.
