The Metros – Last Of The Lookers

Crossing Jamie T with The Blockheads and holding them up by the bootlaces of Sham 69, may seem a little weird and wacky.

In the case of this Jak Payne led South London quintet it makes for a potent, mildly piercing rhythmic combo.

Leery, stammering vocals and blues infused blasting and mod-strutting guitar/percussion surges, helps to give their working class life commentating oodles of snap and adds a gyration friendly edge.

The Metros big-sounding approach is going to win over those who like their tunes bold and a little bit garish.
